Wabi-Sabi is a Japanese concept that refers to impermanent, imperfect or rustic beauty. It derives from respect for what is passing, fragile and modest. Wabi-Sabi believes that things are always more beautiful for bearing the marks of age and individuality. The history of Wabi-Sabi is intimately linked with Buddhism and its suggestion that wisdom comes from making peace with our transitory and imperfect natures.
